The Plot of 2 Guns
The movie begins with Robert "Bobby" Trench (Washington) and Michael "Stig" Stigman (Wahlberg) meeting with a Mexican drug lord named Manny "Papi" Greco (Edward James Olmos) in his farm. Stig agrees, but he has a secret order from his commanding officer, Harold Quince (James Marsden), to kill Bobby and take the money for covert operations. When they rob the bank, they are surprised to find over $40 million in the vault, not $3 million. Stig follows his order and shoots Bobby in the arm, but he is shocked to see Bobby's DEA badge. He leaves him in the desert and takes the money.
However, things get complicated when they realize that the money belongs to a corrupt CIA agent named Earl (Bill Paxton), who is determined to get it back at any cost. Earl kills Bobby's superior, Jessup (Robert John Burke), and frames Bobby for his murder. He also sends a hit squad to kill Stig, who is betrayed by Quince as well. Bobby and Stig find out that they have been set up by their own agencies and that they have no one to trust but each other.
