Buy Evoc Bags

The trade off is in the level of protection: a hard flight case like box is going to take the knocks better than a soft bag. That said, soft bike bags will usually protect your bike from the worst of it and they also tend to be cheaper than bike boxes.

There is an in between option. The best bike bags tend to have some more structural inserts inside but retain more of a bag's lightweight nature. Other bike bags can have nifty, in-built storage techniques. For example, some have built in dropouts that allow you to stand your frame upright and hold it tight.

A bike box can be a big item to store when not in use, both at home and at your destination when you use it to travel. Some bags fold smaller than others and they're all going to be smaller than a rigid box when empty.

The Scicon Aerotech Evolution X TSA hard case is a great road bike option. Hard case protection, light, and smaller than both the new EVOC and also the old EVOC bags. It also rolls extremely well. On my 56cm Trek Emonda I can leave the bars on, but loosen the stem and turn them down.

I have two bike bags since I travel for work often. I have an Orucase which I travel easily with for my Road bike with rim brakes. (would be harder with disc). I have the older version of the Evoc Bag for my MTB and its super easy.

Hardshell bike travel cases were the best way to travel with a bike for quite some time; however, engineers at bike brands are pretty clever and softshell bags are nearly on par for protection, weigh less, and often have removable ribbing so they can be neatly rolled up for storage.

Yes, we have just spent the last few hundred words saying how great the best bike travel cases, bags and boxes are, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of added peace of mind. Some bags come with foam tubing however, pipe insulation is perfect for an extra layer of protection. You can also pop into your local bike shop, and if you ask nicely, they're likely to have plenty of spare packaging from a newly unboxed bike.

For many people, travelling has been completely off the table for the last few years. That means there hasn't been much use for the best bike travel cases. However, as the world hopefully starts to round the corner towards normality, there's more travel happening again. Races in far-off places and holidays on a bike are starting to seem like a possibility again, along with new possibilities for exploration. That means thinking about things like bike travel bags to get your bike back and forth safely.

We like that the wheels, along with the sharp cassette and brake rotors, are separated from the main compartment. The wheel pockets put a nice thick layer of material between your frame and your wheels. Other cases have zipped wheel bags that you put inside of the main compartment; this is a fine idea, except we worry about the zippers of these bags gauging the frame. The EVOC separates the wheels and the pockets fit our 29x2.6-inch tires fairly well.

Best known for their well-regarded bike backpacks and bike travel cases, German brand EVOC just announced a major update to their bikepacking bag lineup. While their initial bag range stood out to us in 2019 with their innovative use of BOA dials on bikepacking bags, the overall small carrying capacity kept us wanting more. The new lineup retains the focus on rock-solid attachment and comes with expanded capacity, improved features, and complete waterproofing across the range that make them a viable option for true multi-day bikepacking trips.

All bags are made from an abrasion-resistant, dirt-repellent, waterproof material, feature fully welded seams, and come in both a lighter steel and darker carbon grey colorway. Find an overview of the models below.

i got the old evoc which was waaaay cheaper for almost the same bag as the current evoc (also same weight at 8.6kg). its _just_ big enough for my long mtb.I find that you can put rotor protecting discs to avoid having to take them off (bikes generally have these when shipped these days, its quite handy to grab a couple from a trash near a bike shop).

-The EVOC XL bag is not intended for larger frames. In fact, the maximum wheelbase is actually SHORTER than that standard bag. It is intended for plus bikes and fat bikes with more volume in width and wheel pockets. The wheelbase maximums for EVOC bags are:Standard: 126cmXL: 125cmPro: 130cm

With wheels off, the bike frame mounts to the stand and secures with its axels/skewers. Strap the pad over the handlebars and stem, zip wheels into wheel bags, and load the bike on the stand into the case.

Loop straps over chainstays and the bike top tube and clip them with quick-release buckles. Then, slide wheel bags slide into the case on either side of the frame to protect it. Thread broad Velcro straps through loops inside the case and secure them around the seat post, which may need to be adjusted for packing, and around one side of the handlebar.

Popular running bags include Saloman backpacks and Camelbak bags, as both brands have designed specialist running backpacks for committed athletes, who require a purpose-built running bag that sits comfortably and is hydration compatible. At Wiggle, our running backpack line up is second to none, with options for road running, triathlons and trail running backpacks for explorers. 041b061a72
