The game is set in a rather dark and dirty bathroom and it has a really dark and seedy look about the whole thing. I can say with some real certainty that I have never experienced a lewd game like The Tearoom before. His point is that a gun is fun, Twitch will let you show guns and violence, but a penis is where they draw the line. It is kind of weird that you can have a game with extreme violence and brutality, but no sex, I guess that is the point he was trying to make.
Another way that The Tearoom is a bit of social commentary is with its setting. The game takes place in the 1960s in a public bathroom and we play the role of a gay man. Back then, a public bathroom was a place where some gay men would meet to hook up and there would be cops that would try and bust them and imprison them for many years which is just crazy to think about.
